Confirmation & First Communion
First Year Confirmation Begins in September!
Anyone entering 8th grade, or 14 years of age, can talk with Pastor Knill about Concordia’s Confirmation Program. Students learn the basics of the Christian faith in a more concentrated way than is possible through Sunday School participation. This is a significant program for the development of a sound foundation in the Christian faith that will help young people grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ and will provide a starting point to help them face the challenges of life during their teen years and beyond.
Pre-communion Instruction available for 5th Graders
We offer pre-communion instruction for 5th graders (or 10 year-olds) and above. One or both parents, or other responsible adult(s) and the child meet with the pastor for ten hours of instruction to prepare the young person for meaningful participation in the Sacrament of Holy Communion. This program is separate from confirmation instruction.
Adult Instruction
Adults who come without a church background, from another church background, or who have not been active in a congregation of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod for some time will complete a period of instruction in basic Christian doctrine before becoming members and before participating in the Lord’s Supper.
